WORK EXPERIENCE:

December 1999 - Present: George Mason University, Fairfax, VA. Senior Systems Engineer responsible for supporting the operation, evaluation and integration of the IBM legacy system. Current duties include providing support for software installations, software customization, general and specific technical problem operational and system software and hardware. Provide evaluation and recommendations for functional and cost efficient products. Review current SOPs, updating as needed and insure documentation is secured for all the related OS/390 IBM and OEM vendor products. Security responsibilities include maintain and streamline current RACF database accounts and rules. Initiate, develop and test disaster recovery procedures.

June 1998 - August 1999

February 1996 - February 1998: Aries Systems International, Inc. Falls Church, VA. Data Communications Programmer Analyst V. Responsible for supporting the operation, evaluation and integration of DOD, Army and Navy network systems software on WAN and LAN platforms. Duties included providing support for software installations, software customization, general and specific technical problem solving of network software and hardware, and support of network integration. Provided evaluation for a common suite of communications products ranging from VTAM session managers to network monitors. Duties for the OS/390 operating system migration included providing product release and compatibility for OS/390 and Y2K compliance. Provide input and direction for the planning of a Centrally Managed Communications (CMC) system to run under the OS/390 operating environment. Review current SOPs, updating as needed and insure documentation is secured for all network related OS/390 IBM and OEM vendor products. As a member of OS/390 BASE Build Team, was responsible for installation, customizing and cloning of the OS/390 operating system environments. Acted as supervisory/administrative and project manager liaison for my company.

February 1998 - June 1998: CRM Herndon, VA. Senior Systems Programmer. Provided support for IBM and OEM vendor software during a ESA 4.3 to OS/390 R2 (Y2K) migration. Duties included product installation, customizing and documentation for TCP/IP, VPS/DRS, VTAM, FRB BDT, and NETVIEW. Additional responsibilities included migration plan for VPS SNA printers to VPS TCP/IP devices. Performed major role in planning and implementation of Op System consolidation of RTG and FDIC operating systems. Performed group leader support for evaluating perspective employment candidates and evaluation of current contractor personnel to better utilize their abilities for the contract. Provided updates or created Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

February 1995 - February 1996: Advanced Management, Inc., McLean, VA. Senior Systems Programmer. Provided support for IBM OEM vendor software in an IBM 3090 multi-processor environment. Project leader for MVS/ESA operating system conversion and CPU processor upgrade, including scheduling systems staff responsibilities and test time, incorporating new standards, performing system installation and tuning of software. Evaluated current operating system, made recommendations and updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Reviewed and presented to client cost factors for operating system upgrade (products) and hardware requirements

February 1994 - February 1995: OPSYS, Inc., College Park, MD. Senior Systems Programmer. Provided support for IBM OEM vendor software in an IBM multi-processor environment for the Department of the Navy. Responsibilities included MVS/XA operating system upgrade, VTAM, JES2, ACF2, MODEL 204 and ROSCOE. Installed, tested and maintained SAS releases and MODEL 204 V3.1. Updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and responded to adhoc inquiries. Prepare and present training classes for operations staff for OMEGAMON/MVS product.

August 1991 - November 1993: Landmark Systems, Vienna, VA. Software Support Specialist. Provided support for monitor packages, TMON/CICS, TMON/MVS and TMON/VTAM. Duties included benchmarking releases and maintenance levels, providing problem analysis and resolution.

September 1990 to August 1991: CBIS Federal, Fairfax, VA. Senior Systems Programmer. Provided support in an IBM 3081-K32 MVS/XA environment utilizing VTAM, IBM 7171 and 3274 controllers. Responsibilities included the installation, maintenance and tuning of IBM and OEM vendor software, particularly VTAM, ROSCOE and JES2. Interfaced with client, users and vendors regarding systems software. Performed tasks relevant to DASD management using FDR, DMS, ASTEX and DSF, and tasks relevant to CPU hardware upgrades and MVS/XA conversions. Project leader for MVS/XA conversion via CBIPO including scheduling systems staff responsibilities test time, incorporating new standards and DASD configuration, performing system installation and tuning of software. Developed MVS/XA project install plan, reviewed progress weekly with client and coordinated user testing and user problem resolution. August 1987 - August 1990: NBW, Alexandria, VA. Systems Programmer II. Installed, maintained and tuned communications environment. Major areas of responsibilities included ACF /NCP/EP/SSP, NETVIEW/ANO SOLUTIONPAC, NPM, 4700 Host Support, VTAM, SDSF and ROSCOE. Participated in all disaster recovery tests. Participated in data center move, responsible for configuring new local/remote communications environment, testing new data center hardware and appliciance of maintenance to insure component compatibility. Participated in MVS/XA EXPRESS conversion providing support for communications and systems environment. Documented all areas of responsibility. Provided hardware evaluations and recommendations for FEP (from IBM 3725 to 3745) upgrade. Wrote and presented Mini -Informational Seminars (MIS) for the Network, Operational and System personnel on topics covering the communications and operational system environments along with sessions pertaining to our system maintenance requirements. Developed test and migration plans for the communications products during an MVS/SP to MVS/XA upgrade. This included in-house training for using NETVIEW, along with the various NETVIEW components (NLDM, NPDA browsing the NETVIEW logs).

January 1985 - August 1987: General Electric, Springfield, VA. Systems Analyst. Provided operational and maintenance support for IBM and OEM products. Provided communications support using ACF/TCAM and ACF/VTAM. Developed documentation and provided customer training on various systems and communications related products such as OMEGAMON, NCCF, NLDM and NPDA. Provided operations support, including training, staffing and performance evaluations for operations staff. Created and modified communications SOPs for both hardware and software; including a trouble-shooting/diagnostics section; a vendor point of contact list including all pertinent numbers for each component. Insure Operations SOPs were accurate and completed/delivered on a timely basis according to contract schedule Received a Letter of Appreciation for the training class from the contract training group. Responsible for training and supervision four computer operators. Included in the responsibility was employee work schedule; employee evaluations and setting up training for the operations staff; scheduling of required contract over-time. Create and. Procedures included a trouble-shooting/diagnostic section; a front end processor (FEP) section for loading the FEPs; hardware section containing point of contacts and all relevant numbers for vendor support. (B) Systems Engineer/CICS Systems Programmer. Provided customer support, problem analysis and resolution for CICS and systems environments. Maintained M204 DBMS, including installation, testing and documentation of M204 to CICS interface. Responsible for identification and coordination of software fixes by either applying or verifying the application of fixes insuring product reliability for contract customers. Provided CICS table maintenance. (C) Assistant Applications Programmer. Supported PL/I nuclear and coal stations programs with SYSTEM 2000 DBMS interface. Developed PL/I in-house equipment database with TSO report capabilities. (D) RJE Operator, managed day-to-day RJE Operations, analyzed failed jobs, developed RJE Operator Procedures, trained new RJE Operators and wrote their performance evaluations. Modified RJE operations SOP. Responsible for overseeing training at remote sites (nuclear stations) for RJE operators.
