DATE/2000 is an MVS product which has been designed to assist in the testing of applications in preparation for the many problems installations will face at midnight on the 31st of December, 1999. It allows a user to submit a job with a required date and time and will ensure that all requests to MVS for the date/time are intercepted and the user required information substituted. Individual jobs and programs can be tested now to see what the impact of the new millennium will be. DATE/2000 allows the user to perform an impact analysis on their source programs and provides the customer with detailed reports on the analysis. DATE/2000 also provides controlled source editing. DATE/2000 allows you to execute any CICS application under the control of DATE/2000 and allows you to control the date/time information supplied by CICS whether it is EIBDATE or ASKTIME format. For DB2 users, an exit is provided to intercept an SELECT, FETCH or SET statement for date and time and return the user specified value.
